Training for organisations and groups.

C3Web-TrainingCourse.jpg

During the Covid Pandemic, we’ve created a range of online training sessions for theatres, community arts groups, schools and other organisations.

Each introductory module works as a stand-alone training session, or combine any of the modules over a few days, weeks or months to create your own pick ‘n’ mix course.

Modules are each 2 hours long and designed for 5-30 participants, although it may be possible to accommodate more if requested in advance. Participants receive an electronic copy of the session plan, accompanying notes and any resources used during the session.

If you’d like us to run training on a topic that isn’t mentioned here, or an in-depth and extended version of any of the existing modules, please contact us.

Cost

£395 per session for 1-2 sessions.
£325 per session for 3-4 sessions.
£300 per session for 5+ sessions.

Getting started.

1. Why co-create?

This module explores the reasons why Company Three makes theatre with young people, and how these drive our approach. We explore the key terms, ideas and techniques that underpin our methodology and how to start instilling them in your work.

2. Space to be yourself.

The basis of every successful co-creation process is a space in which participants feel comfortable to be themselves. This module explores how to make and maintain this essential space and ensure it is always the bedrock of every workshop.

3. Sources and starting points.

How do you identify the starting points for projects that will sustain your project and inspire your group to express themselves? This module is about how to root your preparation for a new project in listening to the young people you’re going to be working with.

4. Make make make.

Getting started in a devising is often the hardest bit. In this module we explore how to use sources to inspire young people to generate lots of artistic responses in a fun, unpressured and personal way, creating a broad range of material to build your play from.

5. Filtering and editing.

How do you select material to create an efficient, coherent play, but without anyone in the cast feeling like their work has been cut out unfairly? This module explores how to filter and edit your work and how this impacts the form you choose for your play.

6. Writing and wrighting.

In this module we explore ways to generate text with young people and how to ‘wright’ (or craft) a play. We introduce accessible writing exercises and structures that will help you structure your play in collaboration with the young people you’re working with.

Developing your practice.

7. Planning workshops.

Planning great workshops is an art form in itself. In this module we work through effective structures, techniques and activities for fun, engaging workshops that make space for listening and allow young people to respond honestly to the material they’re making.

8. Your artistic superhero.

There is no single set of skills that make a good workshop leader - and young people will always spot when you’re faking it. This artist development workshop will give you the confidence to use your existing skills, experience and abilities as the basis of your practice.

9. Making Zoom fun.

The Coronavirus Pandemic means that delivering workshops online is often the only way to connect with young people. This module explores exercises and activities to make Zoom a fun, engaging and creative place to meet and make work together.
