Join us for the Machine: A Play in a Day taster workshop.
Are you (or do you know) a Year 6 or 7 in Islington who wants to join a fun drama workshop during the Easter holidays? Make new friends, flex your creative muscles and have fun in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
We’re going to make a play-in-a-day about making drama to make a machine that makes change. We’d love for you to join us!
You’ll work with professional theatre makers from Company Three, one of the UK’s leading theatre companies for young people. You don’t have to have any previous theatre experience, and you can bring a friend in Year 6 or Year 7, if you’d like.

About our Taster Workshop
A Play in a Day is run by Company Three, one of the UK's leading theatre companies working with young people. We've been working in Islington for more than 10 years and our plays have been produced in theatres across London and on the BBC.
A Play in a Day is a project for Year 6 and 7 students nominated by their school and other organisations as young people particularly likely to benefit from the project. You've been nominated because your teacher, parent, friend or youth worker think you have potential to be a great performer or theatre-maker.
During the session you'll take part in a series of professional workshops run by leading theatre makers, actors and choreographers. You'll learn new skills and meet new people. The atmosphere at our workshops is really friendly and safe - we guarantee you'll make new friends and have a lot of fun.
When and where
Saturday 19 April, 12:30 - 14:15
The Taster Workshop takes place in central Islington, London. We’ll let you know the exact location if you sign up and are allocated a space.

Company Three operates under a child safeguarding policy and public liability insurance. There will be a ratio of approximately one member of staff to every five young people.
What should I wear? And do I need to bring anything?
Please wear comfortable clothing (not jeans or skirts) that you can move around in, and trainers. You should bring a bottle of water.
What will I be doing?
You'll participate in drama workshops with amazing professional theatre makers, vocal coaches, and actors. You'll work in small groups and learn new skills that aren’t really covered in school drama classes. You'll explore devising, acting skills, scripts and lots more.
What if I don't know anyone?
The first thing we do at this workshop is help you get to know each other. We don't know anyone who has ever attended one of our taster workshops and who hasn't made a friend.
What if I can't make it?
Contact us! We run other events throughout the year, and if you're keen to get involved, we can let you know when they're coming up.
Can I bring a friend?
If you have a friend who you think would enjoy coming along, tell them to contact us and fill in the sign up form above.
